Medical Clown Project Grand CIRCUS Rounds 2017

On November 5, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. PST, Grand Circus Rounds will commence a unique afternoon of extraordinary acrobatic feats, clown performances from top circus performers, live music from Black Olive Jazz, and a tasty serving of treats!

The audience will also experience a rare close-up view of therapeutic medical clowning: the practice our Medical Clowns use to work with patients, their families, and supporting medical teams on their ‘rounds’ at partnering health care facilities.

Thanks to donor support, patients of Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center will see the performance in the afternoon.

See you there!

Lebanon Project: Clowns Without Borders

Hey Friends - I'm excited to announce that I'm going on a totally new kind of tour. This October, I'm going to Lebanon with Clowns Without Borders. I'll be building a show with a group of Lebanese and American artists, which we will tour in refugee camps. Lebanon hosts more Syrian refugees than any other country in the world, andover tens of thousands of other crisis émigrés from other countries, including Iraq, Sudan, Ethiopia, and neighboring Palestine.

Speakeasy Circus: Fools' Delight at AcroSports

We'll be having two shows: Friday, March 31st and
Saturday, April 1st.

Dress to the nines, set your pocket watch to the year 1920, and join us for Speakeasy Circus: Fools’ Delight, our staff and adult student cabaret! Enter our underground speakeasy with the secret password and let us wow you with a theatrical evening of circus, live jazz, and feats of acrobatic and aerial prowess with an April Fools’ twist. The performance begins at 8 PM, but get dolled up in your finest 1920’s garb and join us at 7:30 for jazz, libations, and a hotsy totsy, foolishly fun time. Then, sit back, relax, and stay toasty with sweet treats and dandy drinks during the performance. Tickets are $20 general admission, $10 for current AcroSports students.

Enmity of the People (Guest Artists at University of Dayton)

It is discovered that the source of your town’s water is poisoned. Your leaders assure you there is nothing wrong. How do you know you are safe? Who can you trust? Who holds the power of moral authority and how is it measured? Featuring UpLift Physical Theatre and the Zoot Theatre Company, this brand new imagining of Henrik Ibsen’s 1882 play, An Enemy of the People, explores how these themes can still persist more than a century later.

This production is an original adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People co-produced by the Theatre, Dance and Performance Technology Program, the Hanley Sustainability Institute, UpLift Physical Theatre, and the Zoot Theatre Company.

DIVAfest 2016 - Terra Incognita: Through the Waves

UpLift Physical Theatre presents "Terra Incognita: Through the Waves," an adaptation of last summer’s five-star reviewed “Terra Incognita,” performed by a three-woman cast. Weaving a poetic vocabulary of acrobatic movement and storytelling, this intimate play tells the tale of a woman, lost between the uncharted waters of her grief and the mountaintops of her joyful memories following the disappearance of her soul-mate. Friday and Saturday nights at Exit Theatre, November 4 - 19, 2016.
